Job Overview

As a MIG Welder, you’ll turn technical drawings and metal materials into accurate, durable assemblies. You’ll use gas metal arc welding (MIG) and related fabrication methods to build and repair components while following safety protocols and applicable standards.

Your impact: Precise, standards-conscious fabrication helps customers and project teams receive dependable finished components.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG welding and, as needed, flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW or stick welding), tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding, and soldering.
Read blueprints and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings to plan welds, dimensions, and assembly steps.
Fabricate sheet metal, ductwork, and other metal components; support mechanical fabrication, machining, plasma cutting, and assembly.
Use hand and power tools, cranes, and measuring instruments—including calipers and micrometers—to position, cut, measure, and inspect work.
Apply shop math and basic math, mechanical knowledge, and safety protocols; follow relevant American Welding Society (AWS) standards and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) codes and standards.

Experience

Welding, MIG welding, metal fabrication, or sheet metal fabrication experience is relevant; fabrication shop or construction site experience is helpful.
Ability to read blueprints, interpret technical drawings, measure accurately, and work with metal materials.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, cranes, and measuring instruments is useful.
Experience with FCAW, SMAW, TIG welding, soldering, plasma cutting, machining, ductwork, or assembly is preferred.
Knowledge of AWS standards, ASME codes and standards, safety protocol adherence, and shop math is an asset.
