Perform sandblasting and other surface preparation as part of the repair process
Assist with polishing and finishing repaired components
Support painting and other final preparation work as needed
Troubleshoot repair challenges and determine the best approach to complete work accurately and efficiently
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to support a safe and productive shop environment
Work collaboratively with the team to keep repairs moving through each stage of the process
Take ownership of assigned work from preparation through completion

What We're Looking For

Hands on TIG welding experience
Experience with TIG welding, GTAW, stainless steel, aluminum, bronze or marine alloys, including weld preparation, grinding, polishing and surface finishing.
Experience welding stainless steel, bronze, Nibral, and aluminum strongly preferred
Ability to produce consistent, high quality welds and finished work
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned projects
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
Willingness to work across different stages of the repair process, including preparation, sandblasting, polishing, and painting
Self motivated and able to identify what needs to be done without constant supervision
Dependable with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed
Team oriented approach and willingness to contribute wherever needed to get the job done

Why Join General Propeller?

Join an established, close knit marine business where your work has a visible impact
Work in a hands on environment where you can take ownership of your work from start to finish
Build experience beyond welding by learning different stages of the repair and finishing process
Work independently while being part of a team that supports one another
Develop additional technical skills and grow your capabilities over time
Join a company that values initiative, reliability, craftsmanship, and people who take pride in their work
Competitive compensation based on experience, capability, and reliability

Benefits

401(k) with company match
Health insurance, including life insurance
Paid time off, including an end of year companywide shutdown

If you're an experienced TIG Welder who takes pride in your craftsmanship, enjoys solving problems, and wants to be part of a team where everyone contributes to getting the job done right, we'd love to hear from you.
