Overview

K & D General Contracting, Inc. is seeking an experienced Master Carpenter / Lead Framer to join our team.

We are not looking for an entry-level carpenter or someone who simply knows how to measure, cut, and install material. We are looking for a true, experienced carpenter who understands residential construction from the plans through the finished product and can take responsibility for high-quality work in the field.

Residential wood framing
Reading and understanding architectural and structural blueprints
Laying out walls, floors, roofs, openings, stairs, and structural components directly from plans
Understanding dimensions, elevations, headers, beams, load points, and framing details
Roof framing, including rafters, valleys, hips, dormers, and complex roof systems
Installing windows and exterior doors
Interior and exterior trim and finish carpentry
Identifying field problems and developing solutions without constant supervision
Working accurately, efficiently, and to a high professional standard

Experience Required

We are looking for someone who has spent years actually building houses and understands how a building goes together, not simply someone who has worked as a carpenter's helper or performed limited carpentry tasks.

You should be capable of being handed a complete set of plans and being able to read them, lay out the work, and build from them.

Leadership or foreman experience is a major plus. The ability to direct other carpenters and laborers whilemaintaining quality and production is highly valued.

Requirements

Extensive professional framing/carpentry experience
Strong blueprint-reading ability
Excellent layout and construction math skills
Strong framing and finish-carpentry skills
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Dependable and able to show up consistently

Position & CompensationFull-time. Compensation will be based on actual experience, skill level, and ability. Top pay is available for the right person who can demonstrate true master-level framing and carpentry skills.

If you are an experienced carpenter who can look at a set of blueprints, understand what needs to be built, lay it out correctly, and execute the work from framing through finish, we would like to hear from you.
