About Lake County Mechanical

Lake County Mechanical (LCM) is a residential heating and cooling company serving homeowners across Lake County. We're a growing team in which everyone’s contributions matter.

The Role

You run an LCM install crew: you and one installer. You own the job from the moment the truck leaves the shop until the customer knows how to run their new system. You set the pace and the standard. You teach your crew mate to do it right, and every install should be one you'd put your name on.

What You'll Do

Lead your two-person install crew day to day: plan the job, direct the work, and keep it safe and on schedule
Install furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps to manufacturer specs, local code, and LCM's installation standards
Fabricate and modify sheet metal and ductwork on site to fit the job
Train and mentor your installer on technique, quality, and jobsite habits
Run startup, testing, and a final quality check before leaving the job
Walk homeowners through their new system, including operation, thermostat setup, and basic maintenance
Coordinate with the GM and office so equipment and materials are ready
Complete installation paperwork and documentation accurately
Protect the customer's home, leave a clean jobsite, and keep the install truck stocked and organized
Flag repair or add-on opportunities you spot on the job to the office

What We're Looking For

3 - 5+ years of residential HVAC installation experience
Ability to independently install furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps
Sheet metal skills: you can lay out, fabricate, and install ductwork and fittings in the field
EPA 608 certification (Type II or Universal) required
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
Working knowledge of local mechanical codes and manufacturer installation requirements
Leadership: you can direct a crew mate, teach as you go, and hold the standard without cutting corners
Clear, professional communication with homeowners and the office
Able to meet the physical demands of the job: lifting up to 50 lbs, team-lifting heavier equipment, ladders and rooftops, and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor temperature extremes
