Responsibilities

Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents thoroughly to develop precise plumbing estimates.
Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to compile detailed cost proposals.
Perform quantity take-offs from drawings and schematics, ensuring accuracy in material and labor calculations.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather pricing information and negotiate terms that benefit both parties.
Analyze bid documents to identify potential risks, scope gaps, or value engineering opportunities that could impact project profitability.
Prepare comprehensive bid packages that include pricing breakdowns, schedules, and contractual considerations.
Monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to maintain competitive edge in bidding strategies.

Requirements

Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on plumbing systems within commercial or industrial projects.
Strong knowledge of construction management processes, contracts, and project lifecycle stages.
Proficiency in Bluebeam for digital document review and markup; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing with suppliers and subcontractors.
Familiarity with construction site operations and understanding of how on-site activities influence project costs.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents accurately.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capable of managing multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
