Location
This role is based in our Kernersville, NC office, with approximately 75% of time spent in the office and 25% in the field. Travel to job sites is required based on project needs.

What You Will Do
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering steel fabrication and/or structural projects from award through completion. This role owns project scope, schedule, and execution while partnering closely with engineering, detailing, procurement, production, quality, and field teams.

You will serve as the primary coordinator between internal teams and the field, working closely with jobsite foremen and dedicated crew members to ensure fabrication schedules, materials, and installation timelines align with project expectations. On average, this role will manage approximately 3–5 projects at a time, depending on workload and project scope.

Core Duties:

Primary (80%)

Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects from handoff through closeout
Develop and maintain project schedules and work plans
Serve as primary point of contact for customers regarding project status, changes, and expectations
Coordinate with engineering and detailing to ensure drawings, submittals, and revisions align with project scope
Partner with production and shop leadership to align fabrication schedules with project timelines
Work with procurement to ensure materials are ordered, delivered, and tracked appropriately
Lead internal project meetings and communicate priorities clearly
Manage change orders and scope adjustments
Provide coordination and direction to onsite foremen and dedicated jobsite crews

Secondary (20%)

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
Track and report project progress to leadership
Support project closeout, documentation, and lessons learned
Assist with coordination between field teams and engineering as needed

What You Bring

2–5 years of project management experience within structural steel, fabrication, or commercial/industrial construction
Experience working within the construction industry required (structural steel experience strongly preferred)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
Working knowledge of scheduling tools and project tracking software
Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Project
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Comfort working with both office teams and field crews
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role typically ranges from $90,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on experience. We offer company-supported health insurance (eligible after 90 days), retirement benefits with a company match, paid time off, and paid company holidays.
