Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Pipe Fitter to lead our pipe team on industrial HVAC projects. This is a hands-on leadership role — you will be in the field every day, setting the standard for quality and pace while directing the crew on chilled water, condenser water, cooling tower, chiller, and DX piping installations. The right candidate leads by example, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of the pipe scope from rough-in through startup.

Responsibilities

Lead the pipe team on a daily basis — assign tasks, set priorities, and maintain production pace
Fabricate and install chilled water and condenser water piping systems for commercial HVAC applications
Install and connect piping associated with chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, and DX equipment
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, and equipment submittals without supervision
Lay out piping systems in the field, including hangers, supports, and penetrations
Perform copper brazing, carbon steel welding, grooved mechanical joining (Victaulic), and threading as required
Ensure proper insulation prep, slope, and system cleanliness prior to startup
Coordinate with the project manager, sheet metal, controls, and equipment startup crews
Hold the crew accountable to quality standards, safety policies, and project schedules
Identify and resolve field conflicts proactively to minimize delays and rework
Mentor and develop Junior and Mid-Level Pipe Fitters through on-the-job coaching
Comply with Florida Mechanical Code, OSHA standards, and company safety policies

Requirements

7+ years of pipe fitting experience in commercial HVAC mechanical contracting
Demonstrated experience leading a pipe crew in the field
Hands-on experience with chilled water systems, cooling towers, chillers, and DX equipment
Proficient in copper brazing, carbon steel (welded and grooved), and threaded pipe
Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment submittals independently
Strong communication skills — able to direct crew and coordinate with other trades and supervision
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred
EPA 608 Universal Certification preferred
Valid Florida driver's license
Journeyman card or equivalent verified field experience required

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
