Project Manager

SFDS LLC | Full-Time | $80,000–$90,000/year, commensurate with experience

Position Overview

SFDS LLC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects from kickoff through fabrication, delivery, and installation.

The PM serves as the primary client contact and coordinates teams across all departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate competing priorities, and address issues quickly. Experience with fabrication and installation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple projects simultaneously from kickoff through completion.
Serve as the primary client contact and provide consistent project updates.
Translate awarded bids into production plans, schedules, and project timelines.
Lead internal project kickoffs and ensure scope, responsibilities, and deadlines are clearly communicated.
Coordinate teams across fabrication, design, production, installation, procurement, and administration.
Monitor fabrication progress on the shop floor to ensure work meets project scope, design intent, quality standards, and client expectations.
Review production trackers and identify schedule, staffing, or production issues early.
Coordinate deliveries, installations, strikes, and other field activities.
Lead client walkthroughs during fabrication, technical preparations, and installations as needed.
Manage client deliverables including approvals, COIs, installation documentation, and other required materials.
Monitor project costs and approve running costs and final job cost reports.
Ensure material, labor, installation, and other project costs are accurately tracked.
Mentor and support Assistant Project Managers and Designers.
Hold teams accountable for deadlines, communication, and project requirements.
Troubleshoot issues and make timely decisions to keep projects moving.
Minimize avoidable overtime, delays, rework, and cost overruns through effective planning and oversight.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably in fabrication, production, installation, events, exhibits, scenic work, construction, or a related field.
Strong understanding of fabrication and installation processes.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
Experience coordinating teams across multiple departments.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage schedules, budgets, scope, labor, and materials.
Comfortable working with clients, production teams, vendors, and field crews.
Ability to work both in an office/project-management environment and on the shop floor or job site.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, project trackers, and standard office software.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
Willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends when required by project schedules or installations.
