Role Overview

Hands-on supervisor leading residential projects while remaining actively involved in trade work. Responsible for coordinating labour, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring works are delivered safely and on programme.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate site operatives and subcontractors

Plan and manage daily works in line with programme

Carry out hands-on carpentry/building work as required

Ensure correct sequencing of trades across projects

Maintain quality standards and resolve on-site issues

Enforce health & safety and maintain site organisation

Monitor progress, materials, and short-term planning

Liaise with Site/Project Manager and manage day-to-day site activity

Requirements

Experience in residential construction (refurbs, extensions, loft conversions)

Background in carpentry or general building

Proven supervisory or working foreman experience

Ability to read drawings and manage trade coordination

Strong organisation, reliability, and problem-solving ability

Requirements:

10+ years of experience in residential construction.

Proven experience in a supervisory or Foreman-style role.

Strong technical knowledge across multiple trades (Groundworks, Carpentry, etc.).

Excellent communication skills and a "get-it-done" attitude.

Full UK Driving License.

Location: Projects across Cambridge and Peterborough.

Type: Self-employed / Day rate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $180.00 - $220.00 per day
