Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC/R systems including air conditioning units, refrigeration equipment, boilers, and plumbing fixtures.
Install new HVAC/R equipment following schematics and HVAC design specifications to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as filter replacements, system inspections, refrigerant recharges, and mechanical adjustments to prevent breakdowns.
Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Use specialized tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and welding equipment for component repairs or fabrication.
Conduct field service visits to commercial properties to perform repairs, upgrades, or preventative maintenance on HVAC/R systems.
Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs to document work performed and parts used.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards while providing excellent customer service.

Experience

Proven experience as a service technician in HVAC/R or related mechanical fields with a focus on commercial systems.
Knowledge of construction practices related to HVAC installation and property maintenance projects.
Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design principles, plumbing systems, refrigeration cycles including ammonia refrigeration is highly desirable.
Hands-on experience with equipment repair involving electrical testing (ohmmeters), welding techniques, boiler operation, and appliance repair.
Mechanical knowledge of HVAC components such as compressors, condensers, evaporators, fans, pumps, valves, and thermostats.
Field service experience working directly at commercial sites or industrial facilities.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
Certifications in HVAC/R systems or refrigerant handling are preferred; ongoing training in ammonia refrigeration or advanced HVAC design is advantageous.
