Overview
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in electrical systems, construction practices, troubleshooting and safety protocols. This role involves working in existing residential homes, ensuring all electrical work meets industry standards and regulations. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for troubleshooting electrical problems in customer’s homes and correcting the problem the most cost effective way, with replacing the item as a last resort. Customer survey scores will be tied to your performance evaluation and pay.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential homes.
Utilize power tools and hand tools to complete electrical tasks efficiently.
Conduct voltage tests using voltmeters to ensure proper electrical flow.
Experience in diagnosing ceiling fan problems and repairing or replacing them.
Renovate existing electrical systems as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
Follow all safety protocols while working on high voltage systems.
Maintain a clean and organized work area on the construction site.

Skills

Strong knowledge of power tools and their safe operation.
Experience using voltmeters for testing electrical systems.
Ability to renovate existing structures while adhering to building codes.
General maintenance person skills that complement electrical expertise.
Experience in building and installing various electrical components.
Familiarity with commercial electrician practices and high voltage systems is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving / trouble shooting skills and attention to detail.
Being able to discuss and explain the problem to the customer and being able to defuse any frustration with the customer in a polite and respectful manner.
Confidence in making a decisions based on your own evaluation of the problem.
