High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required

Valid driver’s license required
-
2-10 years’ experience with welding required
-
Experience with pipe fitting and layout a plus
-
Must be able to read blue print drawings and be able to use them without supervision
-
Must be precise in layout of materials and fit components for welding
-
Knowledge of other equipment used in a fabrication shop (drills, saws, breaks, shears, etc.)
-
Able to pass in-house welding test
-
Must be knowledgeable with general welding equipment and how to properly use it
-
Experience welding on both carbon and stainless steel
-
Ability to follow written and verbal directions
-
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
-
Ability to maintain a clean work environment
-
Ability to maintain an effective, courteous, and tactful relationship with other employees and clients
-
Must be on time and have a good attitude at work
-
Willingness to be trained at other shop responsibilities
-
Must be willing to travel when needed

Report to Fabrication Manager in the Mechanical Design & Fabrication Department
-
Respect and adhere to all active contracts and confidentiality agreements with Applied Chemical Technology and associated clients
-
Respect and adhere to all safety rules procedures, and complete all necessary safety training
-
Perform other functions in the Fabrication Shop as requested by the Fabrication Manager or higher management
-
Lay out materials and fit components to be welded using blue prints and other drawings and instruction
-
Weld pipe and parts as required using MIG, TIG, and/or Fluxed Core techniques

Perform general shop labor as requested
-
Keep work area clean and put away all materials at the end of work shift

Indoor, Clean, Climate-Controlled Fabrication Shop (heated but not air-conditioned)

New Equipment
-
Coordinate the use of both hands to perform tasks
-
Ability to drive vehicles and other equipment, such as forklifts
-
Lifting and handling equipment and materials of up to 50lbs
-
Reaching overhead, stooping, kneeling, walking, talking, hearing, reading and seeing.
Hours: 6:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday-Friday; must be able to work on short notice and work extra hours, including weekends, if needed
