Duties

Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, furnaces, boilers, and ventilation equipment according to schematics and HVAC design plans
Perform system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance on existing HVAC units to optimize performance
Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams to ensure precise installation and troubleshooting
Conduct refrigerant recharges, ammonia refrigeration work, and mechanical repairs using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment
Diagnose system issues through field inspections, testing components like thermostats, compressors, valves, and electrical connections
Ensure all installations comply with safety standards, building codes, and manufacturer specifications
Maintain detailed records of work performed, including service reports and system configurations

Requirements

Proven experience in construction or service technician roles with a focus on HVAC installation or repair
Strong mechanical knowledge including plumbing, refrigeration systems, and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) systems
Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately
Experience with HVAC design principles and property maintenance practices
Familiarity with appliance repair techniques related to air conditioning units and boilers
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driver preferred for travel between job sites
Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus
Skilled in the use of hand tools, welding equipment, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools
Ability to work safely in various environments while adhering to safety protocols
Mechanical experience or certifications related to boiler systems or refrigeration is highly desirable
