ELECTRICAL TRADE INSTRUCTOR (Part time)

Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach Electrical courses in our Electrical Trades program. This is a part-time professional position reporting directly to the Campus Director. The primary responsibility will be to teach Electrical Program courses. The typical teaching load is 1 or 2 days/week in the evenings from 5-10pm with a maximum of 20 students maximum. Instructors are encouraged to work with the Campus Director to select teaching days that work best for them.
Duties:
- Provides instruction to students in both theory and practice of the various aspects of their subject areas.
- Delivers the NTI prepared curriculum, maintains student records, and reports on students’ attainment and progress.
- Ensures that appropriate safety policies and procedures are developed and implemented in the Labs.
- Maintains program equipment and lab areas.
- Keeps abreast of technical changes in the field and keeps the campus director informed of significant changes.
- Participates in professional development and training activities to improve teaching skills and technical expertise in the area taught.
Requirements:
- H.S Equivalency or Diploma
- At minimum of five years of hands-on experience in the field as an Electrician (commercial, residential, multifamily or new construction).
- Hold a valid Texas License (Apprentice, Journeyman +preferred, military experience may be substituted)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, motivated and results driven
- Prior teaching experience in an accelerated program preferred but not required
Physical & Work Environment
This role requires an individual who can stand, walk, climb, kneel, and lift up to 100 lbs. Work occurs in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and equipment hazards.
