● Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm EST
Compensation and Benefits:

Position Summary:
The Solar Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing commercial and industrial solar projects (typically 250 kW – 5 MW+, including rooftop and ground-mount systems). This role manages project budgets, schedules, procurement, subcontractors, documentation, customer communication, and coordination with Solar Foremen, AC Leads, and Mechanical Leads. The ideal candidate brings strong technical understanding of solar PV systems, excellent organization, and the ability to drive projects from award to closeout with a high degree of professionalism and ownership. The Solar Project Manager plays a central role in ensuring that projects deliver safely, profitably, and in alignment with Jefferson Energy’s core values: Partnership, Transparency, Impact, and Grit.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution:
● Lead full lifecycle project management from kickoff through commissioning and closeout.
● Develop project schedules, manpower plans, and sequencing in coordination with Solar
● Foremen, AC Leads, and Mechanical Leads.
● Coordinate procurement of modules, racking, inverters, BOS components, and electrical equipment with Warehouse Manager.
● Review drawings, site layouts, one-lines, and engineering packages for accuracy and constructibility.
● Ensure all work complies with NEC (including Articles 690, 705), engineering requirements, and company standards.
Financial & Documentation Management:
● Develop and manage project budgets, cost tracking, schedules and forecasting.
● Prepare and submit change orders, RFIs, submittals, and documentation in a timely manner.
● Maintain updated WIP reports, invoicing milestones, and percentage-of-completion tracking.
● Ensure projects meet or exceed expected gross margin targets.
Communication & Coordination:
● Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, developers, GCs, vendors, utilities, and inspectors.
● Lead regular project status meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders.
● Maintain clear and proactive communication on schedules, risks, and project updates.
● Support field operations by resolving issues quickly and aligning resources.
Safety & Quality:
● Support and reinforce company-wide safety culture across all projects.
● Review safety plans, JHAs, and ensure compliance with OSHA and site-specific requirements.
● Conduct site visits to verify progress, workmanship, and adherence to project specifications.
● Ensure installation quality meets Jefferson Energy standards for mechanical, DC, and AC scopes.
Closeout & Customer Experience:
● Oversee punch lists, commissioning coordination, labeling, and system turnover.
● Deliver accurate as-builts, O&M documentation, and closeout packages.
● Maintain strong client relationships through professionalism and consistent execution.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
● 3–5+ years managing commercial/industrial solar projects
● Strong working knowledge of solar PV systems (mechanical, DC, and AC components)
● Understanding of NEC (especially Articles 690, 705, and applicable codes)
● Ability to read and interpret solar plans, layouts, and one-lines
● Demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously
● Strong organizational and time management skills
● Experience coordinating with field leadership (Foremen, AC Leads, Mechanical Leads)
● Proficiency in project management software (JobTread preferred but not required)
● Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
● NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) or Associate
● Electrical license (Journeyman or higher) preferred
● Experience with rooftop and ground-mount solar systems (250 kW – 5 MW+)
● Experience managing subcontractors and utility coordination
● Experience with interconnection processes and permitting
● OSHA 10 or 30
● Experience supporting estimating or preconstruction
Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
