F&S Construction is currently looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher with Foreman capabilities to work on Commercial and Residential Concrete Projects.
The Concrete Finisher Foreman will be in charge of performing a variety of tasks associated with directing, managing, prepping, pouring, placing, and finishing concrete. This can include sidewalk, curb, curb & gutter, ramps, driveways, scuppers, catch basins, headwalls, roadways, and all other concrete-related construction projects; in conjunction with other concrete finishers, other trade leads and general contractor’s staff.
Responsibilities include:
- Running a job site from start to finish, with safety, time, and quality of work in mind.
- Reading and understanding construction drawings from civil grading and drainage and structural drawings to municipal standard details and survey stakes.
- Conduct daily huddles to layout workers and ensure a safe and productive work day.
- Oversees and leads workers placing forms for molding concrete, installing reinforcing steel, and pouring, finishing, and curing concrete. Build and/or assemble wood or metal forms for the construction of concrete floors, slabs, elevated concrete slabs, stairways, foundations, buildings, and site work per specifications and drawings, etc.
- Set and place forms to proper elevations and locations and aid in installing reinforcing steel
- Loads, transports, and unloads tools, equipment, and supplies required for each project
- Finishes concrete surfaces using power trowel
- Maintains daily reports and documentation for progress, events, changes, and problems on the project. Verify the accuracy of structures using survey points with plumb bob, carpenters level, laser and/or digital transit.
- Keeps Concrete Superintendent and/or General Superintendent informed, in a timely manner, of labor and equipment requirements as the project progresses.
- Complete any/all paperwork required by general contractors.
- May help signal concrete deliverer to position truck to facilitate pouring
- Communicates, advocates and enforces all applicable safety policies and procedures with employees.
- Helps train workers in construction methods and operation of equipment.
- Ensures proper housekeeping of the project site.
- Lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Regular, timely, and consistent attendance is required for this position.
- Possesses a valid Drivers License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of concrete finishing and supervising experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Ability to motivate, develop, train, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
- Ability to manage their own time and the time of others.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions, plans, specifications, and contract documents.
- Ability to work without close supervision and be able to adapt to a wide variety of conditions.
- Takes pride in craftsmanship.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Any/all certifications are welcomed.
