Senior Service Technician – Chicago Area (Field-Based) Role Overview
- Field-based, working from home and traveling to local customers and surrounding states.
- Approximately 50% travel required, including occasional out-of-state trips.
- Most travel will be by car; occasional flights may be required.
- In-office presence as needed when not traveling.

- Must have a personal credit card to book car rentals (company credit card provided for expenses).

Senior Service Technician – Chicago Area (Field-Based) Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot electrical and refrigeration systems on-site.
- HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, chillers
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial machines per factory specifications.
- Diagnose, repair, certify, and recalibrate equipment as needed.
- Respond promptly to service calls with effective technical solutions.
- Support customers and fellow service reps with hands-on expertise.
- Develop or modify machine-related software programs and systems.
- Perform mechanical and electrical tasks including assembly, leveling, diagnostics, repairs, and control system troubleshooting.
- Cosmetic copper brazing.
- Collaborate with product development teams on testing new products.
- Conduct warranty troubleshooting and repairs.
Qualifications
- Senior Service Technician must have Advanced troubleshooting of commercial & industrial HVAC systems (RTUs, chillers, boilers, split systems).
- Electrical diagnostics – reading schematics, testing circuits, identifying faults.
- Refrigeration expertise – knowledge of refrigerants, charging procedures, leak detection, EPA compliance.
- HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, chillers
- Controls & automation – programming, repairing, integrating BAS/BMS systems.
- Cascade & multi-stage chiller systems – operation, maintenance, repair.
- Airflow design & balancing – ductwork layout, static pressure testing, airflow optimization.
- Brazing, soldering, and welding for piping repairs and installations.
- Preventive & predictive maintenance planning.
- Good driving record with ability to travel throughout the region.
- Strong computer and communication skills.
- Commitment to safety standards at customer and manufacturing sites.

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
