JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented HVAC Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on residential and light commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This role requires strong HVAC fundamentals, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Preventative Maintenance
- Perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation equipment.
- Clean, lubricate, and adjust system components to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
- Inspect systems for wear, damage, or potential failures and report findings.
Troubleshooting & Minor Repairs
- Identify and troubleshoot basic HVAC performance issues.
- Perform minor repairs and component replacements such as filters, belts, capacitors, contactors, and thermostats.
- Escalate major repair needs or system replacement recommendations to the appropriate team.
Customer Service
- Provide professional and courteous service during maintenance visits.
- Educate customers on system operation, maintenance needs, and best practices.
- Recommend maintenance plans, system improvements, or energy-saving solutions when appropriate.
Documentation
- Accurately document maintenance services performed, system conditions, and recommendations.
- Complete service tickets and maintenance reports in a timely and organized manner.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal HVAC regulations.
- Follow company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Properly handle tools, equipment, and refrigerants.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- HVAC training or technical school coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of HVAC maintenance or service experience preferred.
Licensing & Certifications
- EPA Section 608 certification required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Additional HVAC certifications a plus.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
- Ability to perform preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics.
- Familiarity with hand tools, gauges, and basic diagnostic equipment.
Soft Skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and follow scheduled maintenance routes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry HVAC tools and equipment.
- Comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, basements, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at varying heights.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $40,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
