Maintenance Supervisor-Mandalane Apartments, Wheeling, IL
Are you ready to take ownership of a high-quality, recently renovated apartment community and lead a team that keeps things running smoothly every day? Ansonia Property Management is looking for a hands-on, experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day maintenance operations at Mandalane, a 264-unit garden-style property in Wheeling, IL.
From scenic grounds and a newly upgraded clubhouse to a fitness center, sparkling pool, BBQ spaces, and a basketball court, Mandalane has it all. Now we need a maintenance leader who takes pride in maintaining this standard of excellence and delivering great service to our residents.
Position Details:
- Location: Mandalane Apartments – Wheeling, IL
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Compensation: $30–$34 per hour, based on experience
- Schedule: 40 hours per week with rotating on-call responsibilities
- Reports To: Property Manager
What You'll Do:
- Supervise daily maintenance operations across 264 apartment homes and common areas
- Lead a team and work hands-on to complete service requests promptly and professionally
- Prepare vacant units for new residents with attention to detail and quality
- Maintain and oversee building systems including HVAC (PTAC), plumbing, electrical, and mechanical
- Troubleshoot and maintain elevator systems, trash chutes, and compactors
- Ensure the property grounds, amenities, and building exteriors are safe, clean, and attractive
- Schedule and coordinate with vendors and contractors for larger repairs or capital improvements
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures and company policies
- Rotate on-call duties with your maintenance team to ensure 24/7 emergency response
What We're Looking For:
- 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in residential building, including prior supervisory roles a must
- Strong working knowledge of PTAC units, elevator buildings, and waste management systems (trash chutes, compactors) construction experience
- HVAC certification preferred (EPA Type II or Universal)
- Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of building systems
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills
- High sense of urgency and accountability in responding to resident service requests
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience with Yardi or similar work order software is a plus
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Bilingual Spanish/English helpful
