Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic CNC Machine Maintenance Mechanic to join our manufacturing facility. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Duties
- Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, and other automated equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to assess machine conditions.
- Repair or replace components involving welding (including welding), hydraulics, low voltage electrical systems, and high voltage circuits.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to track work orders and equipment history.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize machine performance and implement modifications for increased productivity.
- Operate field service equipment such as scissor lifts or forklifts as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Follow safety protocols related to industrial mechanics, electrical systems, HVAC/R systems, and high-voltage environments while ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
- Support technical sales teams by providing insights on machinery capabilities or repairs when required.
- Assist in training new team members on maintenance procedures and safety practices.
Experience
- Proven industrial mechanic experience within a manufacturing facility environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance of CNC machines or similar automated equipment.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting procedures related to electrical (including industrial electrician experience), hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and HVAC/R systems.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low/high voltage electrical systems.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for maintenance management is highly desirable.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately; experience with analysis skills is essential.
- Prior field service experience involving troubleshooting or repairing manufacturing equipment is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills when collaborating with internal teams or external vendors.
