POSITION: Operations Coordinator

ANNUAL SALARY: Negotiable, employee contract
START DATE: immediate, summer 2025
WORK YEAR: 12 Month Employee, Full-Time, 7am to 3pm
Job Summary: The School District School Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems and equipment across district facilities. This role ensures a safe and functional learning environment by managing power distribution, interior and exterior lighting, emergency systems, and specialized classroom technology. As well as perform daily maintenance tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs work under the direction of the Director of Building and Grounds.
Performs skilled electrical work at the journeyman level.
Installs, test, repairs and maintains electrical circuits, wiring systems, fixtures, appliances and equipment.
Troubleshoots and repairs faulty electrical wiring, defective electrical equipment and machinery such as motors, generators, transformers, switches, sockets, etc.
Inspects and tests circuits and fixtures to locate broken wires, loose connections, blown fuses, faulty switches, grounds, shorts and other defects.
Uses common hand tools and electrical ohm test equipment such as meters, voltmeters, ammeters, growlers, multi meters, and other test equipment.
May remove, replace, and repair electrical parts. May maintain storage batteries, fire alarm system, Intrusion alarm, and fob access system.
Perform directly and/or coordinate vendor maintenance and repairs on buildings as needed.
Mow, trim rake and otherwise maintain the grounds and walkways at all schools on a regular basis.
Mow, trim, paint, remove trash and debris and otherwise maintain all school district athletic fields.
Assist the Operations Director and Business Office in ordering maintenance supplies.
Perform substitute custodial duties if needed, and any other related duties directed by the Superintendent of Schools or the Director of Operations
Qualifications:
Must be in good physical condition, and able to lift and move furniture.
Must be able to perform landscaping, maintenance and cleaning of buildings and grounds.
Experience in basic building repairs and landscaping including but not limited to general carpentry, and plumbing work, small engine maintenance, and sprinkler systems, and/or the ability, aptitude, and willingness to receive training in these areas
Must have a Valid Massachusetts Journeyman License
Must be able to work independently and make sound judgments as to prioritizing projects and tasks
Must be able to work with administration, faculty, and the public and follow oral/written directions as required.
Previous public school work or municipal experience preferred.
Must be able to obtain a 2B Hoisting License if requested in one year.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
Basic understanding of facilities maintenance and grounds care is a plus.
Working Conditions:
•Must be available to be on-call for after-hours emergencies.
•Will be required to work outdoors in various weather conditions for snow removal and grounds work assistance.
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
•Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds for event setup and grounds work.
•Ability to walk, stand, bend, and stoop as needed for facility inspections, event support, and grounds work.
•Manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment.
•Ability to perform tasks associated with snow removal and grounds work, which may be physically demanding.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $84,000.00 per year
