Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant machinery and facility systems. The ideal candidate will have both mechanical and electrical expertise, with experience working on production equipment, wiring, hydraulics, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). An electrical license is required for this position.
Duties
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including AC/DC motor controls, wiring, and electronic controls.
- Install, service, and modify wiring, conduits, fixtures, and related electronic controls.
- Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, ensuring functionality and reliability.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, machinery layouts, and troubleshooting guides.
- Perform fabrication, plumbing, and welding tasks as needed for maintenance and repair projects.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to document work orders and track maintenance activities.
- Comply with OSHA safety standards, fire and electrical codes, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to complete repair projects and minimize equipment downtime.
Experience
- 5+ years of related industrial maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of technical school education and hands-on training.
- Electrical license required, with at least 2 years of formal technical school training in electricity and electrical design.
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, including AC/DC motor control and wiring codes.
- Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with computers in an industrial setting, including hardware/software troubleshooting and network configuration.
- Welding, plumbing, and fabrication skills are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in English.
