Responsibilities
- Assist in installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems such as air conditioning units, refrigeration systems—including ammonia refrigeration—and boilers.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to support system installation and troubleshooting efforts.
- Support service technicians in diagnosing mechanical issues using tools like ohmmeters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operation and energy efficiency.
- Help with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems and ensure proper integration with building infrastructure.
- Participate in field service activities including appliance repair, property maintenance, and equipment troubleshooting on-site at various locations.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while welding, using hand tools, or working with refrigerants and other hazardous materials.
Experience
- Prior experience or training in construction or property maintenance is highly desirable.
- Service technician experience involving HVAC/R (refrigeration) systems or appliance repair is a strong plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC design, schematics reading, or boiler operation will give you an advantage.
- Familiarity with refrigerants such as ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R systems enhances your skill set.
- Hands-on experience with field service tasks including equipment repair or maintenance work is beneficial.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and perform basic electrical testing is preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (including driver requirements) is necessary for travel between job sites.
