Job Overview
We are seeking an overhead crane operator at U.S. Stone Industries. Bilingual preferred but not required.
Night Shift Hours: Monday through Saturdays 4pm to 230am
Description Summary
The Crane Operator is responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. The operator controls crane functions by depressing buttons and foot pedals, as well as manipulating levers. They attach loads to hoists and cranes and safely move them.
Job Summary
Operate a variety of material-moving equipment daily according to schedule and instructions from management team, choosing and setting up the right crane, lift or hoist to complete each task safely and efficiently.
Inspect machines and equipment daily, perform routine maintenance and minor repairs as required and initiate additional repair requests to the maintenance department when needed.
Listen to the management team’s plan prior to the start of every shift and complete all required tasks accurately and within assigned deadlines with limited supervisor.
Maintain visual and/or radio contact with ground operators according to best practices and site safety regulations, and to respond to questions and instructions clearly and quickly.
Must adhere to all health and safety practices and procedures.
Must work to be an excellent teammate exhibiting a willingness to help/train co-workers as needed.
Must work with pace and efficiency without sacrificing quality.
Carries out any additional duties as assigned by the plant management team.
Minimum requirements
Must have physical strength, hand-eye coordination, and endurance. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
Must be willing and able to utilize (or learn to utilize) computer based and mechanical equipment in the workplace.
Must work well within a team environment. Must be reliable and self-motivated.
Must be able to communicate effectively. The ability to speak both English and Spanish can help an operator advance in their profession.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be on time and ready to work each workday unless prior management arrangements have been made.
Education
High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Operators who have specialized skills may advance to new opportunities more quickly.
A history including general shop, welding, mechanical drawing, blueprint reading, physics/mathematics, via your education or on-the-job training will prove helpful, but is not required.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
