Summary
NWBS is searching for a Certified Welder/Fabricator within our welding department and undertake a variety of tasks relating to new construction. The job will of welding chassis frames, necessary components, installing axles and hitches to construct a viable quality platform, and cutting and welding ISO for conversions are important facets of this position. Due to the risk pertaining to this job, welders must be first and foremost be responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ability to weld .035 hard wire in various positions.
- Ability to use oxy acetylene torch and plasma cutter.
- Ability to use hand grinders and various hand tools.
- Welds small and large components.
- Consults blueprints and sketches to execute jobs and tasks to specification.
- Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
- Monitor equipment for appropriate voltage and wire feed rate.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of universal standards and specifications to meet building codes and legal requirements.
- Operate specialized machinery for industrial welding.
- Monitors work environment for hazards and maintains healthy ventilation levels to avoid particle or gas inhalation.
- Follow safety protocol, including wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.
Qualifications
- Structural welding certification (GMAW) preferred
- Shielded metal arc welding certification (SMAW) preferred
- Ability to count, perform multiplication on the spot, and use calculators
- Ability to lift consistently lift 50 or more pounds and 100 or more pounds on occasion.
- Can consistently reach above and below shoulder level.
- Can meet our daily schedule and possible overtime when necessary.
- Ability to climb ladders, use hoist and use man lifts to perform work duties.
- Ability to read and understand measurements
- Ability to give and take direction, and work in a team with others.
- Ability to consistently be walking, bending, and lifting throughout shift.

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
