Technician/Fabricator
Poynette Iron Works has operated for 20 years as a dealer for Stellar Industries in the upfitting and chassis adjustment market. In 2024, we created Ironworks Truck & Equipment as a separate entity. We are currently working to build our team that can take this business to the next step by increasing our chassis mounting business from 10-12 chassis mounts per year to our new goal of 200 chassis mounts per year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-
Including, but not limited to:
- Reports directly to the Operations Manager
- Assist techs with installation and upfitting
- Control workflow with scheduling techs daily work assignments
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Self-inspect work to maintain a standard of quality
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic and mechanical issues on new truck chassis during the mounting process
- Maintain accurate records of work performed by using a computer-generated work order system
- Abide by all safety and company policies
- Willingness to learn new products and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of truck chassis electrical, hydraulics, air, and PTO systems
- Ability to interact and communicate with others in a professional manner.
- Technical training from a trade school preferred, but not required.
- Employee must regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to weld is a plus but will train the right candidate
- Ability to think "outside the box" is a plus
