Lead Field Pipe Welder – Boiler & ASME Repairs

Position Overview
We are hiring an experienced Lead Field Pipe Welder to perform and lead boiler repair and ASME-regulated piping work at customer job sites. This role combines hands-on welding with field leadership, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with applicable ASME codes and quality standards.
The Lead Welder plays a critical role in directing crews, maintaining weld quality, and supporting successful field execution. This is a field-based position utilizing a company-provided truck for travel to job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and perform boiler repair and ASME pipe welding work in field environments.
- Execute high-quality pipe welds using TIG, MIG, and SMAW (stick) processes.
- Ensure all welding activities comply with applicable ASME codes, standards, and procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometrics, weld procedures, and technical specifications.
- Set up, adjust, and operate welding equipment to achieve proper weld parameters.
- Inspect completed welds to verify quality, accuracy, and code compliance.
- Provide on-site leadership, oversight, and mentorship to pipe welding crews.
- Coordinate daily work activities with Project Managers and field leadership.
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices.
- Travel to field job sites using a company-issued vehicle.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience performing ASME pipe welding in field environments.
- Proven ability to lead, direct, and support welding crews.
- Strong hands-on experience with TIG, MIG, and stick welding.
- Advanced knowledge of ASME codes, standards, and boiler repair practices.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and weld procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
- Ability to work independently while managing crew productivity and performance.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.00 - $36.00 per hour
