Newell Construction is seeking an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to join our growing team. With steady, year‑round work and a strong reputation as a local builder, this is an excellent opportunity for a skilled carpenter looking for long‑term stability.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced carpentry tasks on residential construction projects
- Read and interpret drawings, plans, and blueprints
- Layout, frame, install, and finish according to project specifications
- Ensure high‑quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
Requirements
- Clean driving and criminal record
- Dependable transportation
- Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain a positive attitude
- Strong work ethic; motivated and self‑disciplined
- Minimum 2 years of residential carpentry experience (journeyman‑level skills required)
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction plans/blueprints
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and reporting abilities
Job Details
- Job Type: Full‑time, year‑round
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8‑hour shifts (no weekends)
- Location: Main office in Columbus, MT
- Jobsite Radius: Up to 100 miles (Billings, Laurel, Park City, Red Lodge, etc.)
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $25.00–$30.00 per hour DOE
- Weekly direct deposit
- Paid one‑way travel time to jobsite
- Advancement opportunities
- Paid time off after 90 days
