Key Tasks
- Install Residential HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, coils, mini-splits, air handlers, and thermostats in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
- Perform full system startups, testing, and calibrations to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and comfort.
- Read and interpret installation manuals, job specifications, and local building codes to ensure compliant, high-quality installations.
- Ensure all work meets local codes, safety regulations, and Skradski Heating & Cooling quality expectations.
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and resolve issues with strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Maintain organized truck inventory and ensure all required materials and tools are available for each job.
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and professional while protecting customer property throughout the installation process.
- Communicate directly with homeowners to explain system operation, answer questions, and deliver a positive customer experience.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the company with integrity at all times.
- Support and mentor apprentice installers by modeling proper techniques, safety practices, and work standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in residential or commercial HVAC installations
- Broad knowledge of all aspects of Air Conditioning & Heating, including Heat Pumps, GEO Thermo-Systems, Wiring, Piping, Airflow Control and Refrigerant
- Must know local HVAC codes and be able to apply them in a practical manner
- Must understand technical operating, service, or repair manuals
- Ability to work on ladders and work outdoors in varied environmental conditions
- Must be punctual and have good work ethic
- Must possess good customer service and communication skills
- Must believe in and display honesty and integrity, and moral values
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- City of Omaha Journeyman’s License Preferred
- EPA Certification for refrigerant
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- NATE certification preferred
