Generator Electrician – Power Generation (Shop-Based)

Job Summary
Taylor Sudden Service is hiring a Generator Electrician to work on industrial diesel and natural gas power generation equipment in a shop-based environment.
This role focuses on electrical diagnostics, generator controls, and alternator work.
Not a residential or commercial construction electrician role.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues on generators
- Install and troubleshoot generator control systems (Deep Sea, DEIF, ComAp, Basler)
- Perform alternator wiring, testing, and repairs
- Read wiring diagrams and schematics
- Support generator builds, refurbishments, and upgrades
- Conduct load bank testing and system checks
- Maintain service records and documentation
- Follow all safety procedures (NFPA 70E / LOTO)
Qualifications Required:
- 5+ years of industrial electrical or generator experience
- Experience working on diesel and/or natural gas generators
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently in a shop environment
Preferred:
- Experience with generator control systems
- Paralleling systems and load bank testing experience
- Background in rental power, heavy equipment, or industrial environments
Pay
- $30–$34/hr – Mid-level electricians with generator experience
- $35–$42/hr – Senior electricians with controls & diagnostics expertise
