Job Responsibilities
As an HVAC Service Technician you will service and repair commercial and residential heating and air conditioning systems. Must have strong skills with hand tools and electrical testing equipment. Along with technical competence, you must have good communication and customer service skills. You will inspect and test systems to verify plan and specification standards of compliance.
Other responsibilities of the Service Technician role include:
Testing electrical circuits or components for continuity
Testing pipes and connections for leaks
Joining tubing to equipment and form complete circuit
Reassembling and testing equipment following repairs
Repairing or replacing defective equipment, components or wiring
Connecting electrical wiring between controls and equipment using hand tools
Adjusting thermostats
A HVAC service technician must have the ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative in servicing customers and maintaining positive customer relations. A HVAC service technician should have great communication skills. A HVAC service technician must have strong knowledge of HVAC, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. You must be proficient in the charging of refrigerants used in AC equipment and to follow all EPA mandates for refrigerant recovery.
Able to pass Criminal Background Check
Must be dependable, well groomed with professional appearance
Valid Driver’s license with a good driving record
Minimum 3-5 years experience in the service & repair of all types of commercial & industrial equipment including roof-top units.
Knowledge of unit & building controls
Ability to work independently
Ability to climb ladders, work at high elevations & lift object up to 75 lbs
Technicians are required to work a regular work schedule and flexibility to work on call and holiday rotation schedules with a courteous professional attitude.
Salary DOE plus commission and bonuses
1 week paid vacation after one year
4 paid holidays per year
