Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Architectural Sheet Metal Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, fabricating, and maintaining high-quality sheet metal components used in building exteriors, roofing systems, and architectural features. Your expertise will help bring architectural visions to life while ensuring safety, precision, and durability on every project. Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install sheet metal components according to project specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble sheet metal materials using hand tools and power tools with precision.
- Install roofing systems, flashing, gutters, vents, and other architectural sheet metal features on various structures.
- Fabricate custom metal parts on-site or in the shop to meet project requirements.
- Use heavy lifting techniques and equipment safely to handle large or heavy sheet metal pieces.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and restoration work on existing structures as needed.
- Collaborate with other trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and welding teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Follow safety protocols diligently and maintain a clean work environment throughout each phase of installation.
Skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to sheet metal installation.
- Skilled in using hand tools (e.g., snips, hammers) and power tools (e.g., drills, shears) effectively and safely.
- Experience with construction estimating to assist in project planning and material procurement.
- Knowledge of roofing systems, flashing techniques, caulking methods, and trim carpentry related to architectural sheet metal work.
- Familiarity with fabrication processes including cutting, bending, welding, and forming metal components.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper posture and technique.
- Understanding of construction site safety standards and protocols.
- Experience working on diverse construction sites such as restoration projects or new builds involving stucco or masonry elements.
- Basic plumbing or masonry knowledge is a plus for integrated project tasks.
