Alaska Roteq, an Impel Company, is seeking an experienced Welder with strong fabrication and mechanical repair skills to join our team. Candidates should have at least three years of welding experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment with a strong focus on quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate welding equipment including ARC, TIG, MIG, sub-arc, and oxyacetylene
Perform complex welding and fabrication work to precise tolerances
Read and interpret fabrication drawings, diagrams, and verbal instructions
Work with stainless steel and exotic stainless materials (preferred)
Perform burning, brazing, soft soldering, and pre/post weld heat treatment
Monitor weld quality through dimensional and visual inspections
Operate grinders, chipping tools, and other power equipment
Assist with training less-experienced welders
Maintain equipment, logs, and clean work areas
Follow all company quality control and workplace safety procedures
Support team collaboration, professionalism, and company policies

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of welding experience
High school diploma or GED required
Welding trade school certification preferred
Ability to read complex fabrication drawings and apply shop mathematics
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening; random testing required

Physical & Work Environment

Frequent standing, lifting, bending, kneeling, and use of hand tools
Lift up to 100 lbs with assistance or overhead crane when needed
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise, and occasional field work/travel
Work hours Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Occasional overtime required
