Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team. You're required to have your own van or pickup truck with a valid driver's license. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of HVAC systems across commercial and residential properties. Your expertise will ensure optimal indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and system reliability. Duties
- Install, inspect, service, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems in various property types.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement effective solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment including boilers, chillers, ammonia refrigeration units, and appliances to prevent breakdowns and extend system lifespan.
- Troubleshoot electrical components using tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to resolve complex mechanical or electrical problems efficiently.
- Conduct field service visits for emergency repairs or scheduled maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption to property operations.
- Repair plumbing systems associated with HVAC units or refrigeration systems as needed.
- Operate a driver vehicle safely for transportation of tools, parts, or equipment to job sites.
- Document all work performed meticulously in service reports and maintain detailed records of repairs and inspections.
- Collaborate with team members on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration) projects including HVAC design modifications or upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and local codes during all installation and repair activities.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration (including ammonia refrigeration), and appliance repair.
- Strong mechanical skills with experience in equipment repair, welding, plumbing, and property maintenance.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately for troubleshooting purposes.
- Proven experience as a service technician within the HVAC/R field or related construction environment.
- Familiarity with HVAC design principles to assist in system upgrades or new installations.
- Mechanical aptitude combined with practical experience in field service operations.
- Proficiency with testing tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics.
- Experience working with complex equipment such as chillers or ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate a driver vehicle safely.
- Knowledge of welding techniques relevant to HVAC applications is desirable.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments requiring quick thinking and problem-solving skills. Pay: $65,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
