About the Role
The Senior Lead Plumber is responsible for overseeing and executing all plumbing installation and system integration work on construction projects, including commercial aquatic systems and waterparks. This role leads on-site plumbing teams, ensures compliance with local and national codes, coordinates with other trades, and communicates progress with the Project Superintendent. The Senior Lead Plumber plays a vital role in maintaining quality and efficiency throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
· Install, inspect, and repair piping systems, pumps, valves, filtration equipment, and other water infrastructure components.
· Supervise and lead a crew of plumbers and pipefitters on active construction sites.
· Coordinate daily work plans and progress with the Project Superintendent and other trade leads.
· Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications related to plumbing and aquatic systems.
· Ensure compliance with all plumbing codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
· Train and mentor junior plumbing staff to ensure skill development and adherence to quality standards.
· Perform pressure testing, system start-ups, and troubleshooting of complex plumbing systems.
· Maintain records of installations, inspections, material usage, and daily work activity.
· Manage inventory of plumbing tools, materials, and equipment on site.
· Collaborate with engineering, project management, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
Qualified candidates should offer the following experiences and skills
· 8+ years of plumbing experience, preferably in commercial or industrial construction.
· Experience with aquatic systems, pools, water features, or high-volume water flow systems is a strong plus.
· Current journeyman or master plumber license preferred.
· Proven leadership experience managing jobsite crews and subcontractors.
· Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings with precision.
· Knowledge of PVC, copper, cast iron, and CPVC piping systems.
· Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, pumps, valves, and backflow prevention devices.
· Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices.
· Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a variety of construction site conditions.
· Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
