Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled HVAC Installer Technician to join our dynamic team.
Minimum of 2 years experience with EPA certification preferred. No plumbing hours are provided. You will be given a company van and tools. Overtime and on-call is available. We service Boston and the surrounding areas. It's a multi-site job where you will be required to drive. A valid drivers license is required.
In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and related mechanical systems. Your expertise will ensure our clients experience optimal comfort and efficiency in their properties. Responsibilities
- Install HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, boilers, and refrigeration equipment, following schematics and HVAC design plans.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings for accurate installation and troubleshooting.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe fitting, drainage, and refrigerant line connections.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical diagnostics and welding equipment for system fabrication or repair.
- Diagnose mechanical issues in HVAC units using specialized field service techniques; repair or replace faulty components promptly.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all installations, repairs, and inspections performed.
Skills
- Strong construction knowledge with experience in installing complex mechanical systems.
- Proven service technician experience with HVAC/R systems or appliance repair.
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design documents accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of refrigeration systems, ammonia refrigeration, boilers, and property maintenance.
- Field service experience with a focus on air conditioning units and equipment repair.
- Familiarity with plumbing connections related to HVAC systems; experience with welding is a plus.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; understanding of electrical troubleshooting techniques.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate vehicles safely.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including boilers, refrigeration cycles, and ammonia refrigeration processes.
- Experience with HVAC/R standards and safety protocols; ability to work independently or as part of a team in various environments. Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour
