Lead Carpenter – Residential Construction (New Homes & Additions)
Office in Sabattus, ME (projects primarily south of Lewiston/Auburn)
$31–$35/hour (based on experience) Company Truck, over-time available, paid travel time, 401K, PTO, Holidays
ABLE TRADES is hiring a Lead Carpenter to join our Building Division, focused on new home construction and high-quality additions. Our builders are known for high standards and quality craftsmanship.
- This is a hands-on leadership role for a Lead Carpenter with strong experience, capable of managing projects and leading and working with their crew.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and work alongside a small crew on residential builds
- Perform and oversee framing, finish work, and general carpentry
- Read and execute plans with precision
- Maintain job site organization, safety, and workflow
- Ensure projects stay on schedule and meet quality standards
- Communicate with leadership and team members clearly
- Work on roofing and elevated surfaces when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Strong residential carpentry experience (new builds and/or additions)
- Proven ability to lead or step into a leadership role
- High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Consistent attendance, reliability, and ability to follow through on daily responsibilities
- Physically capable of full-time field work

- Most projects are located south of Lewiston/Auburn
- Candidates living within a reasonable commute to southern job sites are encouraged to apply

Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour
