UG2’s apprenticeship program offers employees the opportunity to attain on-the-job training and experience under the supervision of a licensed plumber in accordance with the requirements set forth by the Division of Apprentice Standards and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. UG2 provides facility services to a diverse and ever-expanding portfolio of facilities, including but not limited to: commercial and corporate high-rise buildings, corporate office parks, higher education facilities and campuses, and retail mall locations.
This individual will gain exposure to preventative and corrective plumbing maintenance, plumbing systems installation and repair, work order systems, process improvement, client relations, and facilities account management.
UG2’s apprentice program is registered with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Division of Apprentice Standards. In as little as four to five years, our plumbing apprentices can complete the program, assuming they meet the necessary annual requirements to progress.
To Be Considered For The Program, The Employee Must Understand The Level Of Commitment Necessary To Complete The Program. As An Apprentice, The Individual Is Expected To
- Must have an active Plumbing Apprentice License
- Complete learning hours annually from an accredited institution approved by the Division of Apprentice Standards
- Complete working hours in the field under the supervision of our licensed plumber
- Attend mandatory check-in meetings to ensure progress is met and any questions/concerns are addressed
- Complete all required Safety Trainings mandated by the UG2 Safety Training Program
- Be receptive to feedback and incorporate it into their practice
- Take advantage of additional learning opportunities, such as UG2-sponsored trainings
Doing an apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in all aspects of plumbing work—from troubleshooting and system repairs to understanding local codes and delivering exceptional service. Apprentices are mentored and monitored by some of the most talented plumbing professionals and O&M leaders in New England. This program is reviewed annually by UG2 leadership to ensure compliance, efficacy, and alignment with our values and those set forth by governing organizations such as the Division of Apprentice Standards and Department of Labor.
UG2 Apprenticeship Qualifications/Requirements
UG2 is seeking a highly professional, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented individual. Candidates must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to take high-level direction and execute on tasks. Candidates must be able to conduct themselves professionally in client-facing capacities and have well-developed customer service skills.
- Top performance among peers in terms of skill/ability and willingness to learn
- Free of disciplinary infractions for six months prior to being considered for admission into the program
