Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial transportation refrigeration systems across various property types. Your mechanical expertise and proactive service approach will ensure our refrigeration equipment operates efficiently, reliably, and safely.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial transportation refrigeration units.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, diagrams to accurately diagnose system issues.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal operation of refrigeration equipment.
- Conduct repairs related to refrigeration systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to repair or replace faulty components.
- Assist with refrigerated design modifications or upgrades to improve system efficiency and capacity.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all work performed for accountability and future reference.
- Operate company vehicles safely as a driver while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with property maintenance teams to coordinate repairs or upgrades involving refrigeration.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in refrigeration systems.
- Proven field service experience working on commercial refrigeration.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
- Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is highly desirable for handling specialized equipment safely.
- Skilled in the use of diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; welding experience is a plus for component repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience as a driver preferred.
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
