About Direct Pallet Racking
Direct Pallet Racking is a fast-growing warehouse storage and material handling company that provides pallet racking, permitting support, installation, relocation, repair, and warehouse optimization services nationwide. We work with businesses that need projects completed safely, efficiently, and with clear communication from start to finish.
We are looking for a driven Project Manager who can take ownership of installation projects, communicate clearly with clients and crews, and keep management updated on project status, timelines, and potential issues before they become problems.
Position Summary
The Project Manager will be responsible for coordinating installation projects from planning through completion. This person will serve as the main point of contact for customers before and during installations, help organize crews, confirm project readiness, track timelines, review plans, and communicate progress to internal management.
The right candidate is detail-oriented, confident communicating by phone and email, comfortable using software, and able to solve problems in real time. This role requires someone who is proactive, organized, and not afraid to hold people accountable while maintaining professionalism with customers, installers, vendors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate upcoming installation projects and confirm all details before crews arrive on site.
- Communicate with clients to verify site readiness, access, receiving, staging areas, equipment needs, safety requirements, and installation schedule.
- Serve as the first point of contact for installation-related questions before and during the project.
- Provide clear project timelines to clients, crews, and management.
- Update management regularly on project status, delays, risks, missing materials, change orders, and completion progress.
- Review project drawings, layouts, quotes, and installation scopes to understand what is being installed.
- Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, sales, permitting, and installation crews to make sure projects are ready.
- Track materials, deliveries, equipment rentals, crew schedules, and project milestones.
- Identify potential problems early and help create solutions before they impact the project.
- Maintain accurate notes, project updates, emails, schedules, and internal documentation.
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members.
- Assist with punch lists, closeout documentation, photos, and project completion follow-up.
- Travel to job sites when needed to support installations, client meetings, or project troubleshooting.
- Help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to the agreed scope.
Requirements
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to read and understand plans, layouts, elevations, and project documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong follow-through.
- Comfortable communicating by phone, email, and project management software.
- Bilingual ability preferred, especially English/Spanish.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Software savvy and comfortable learning new systems.
- Able to work with installers, customers, vendors, and management in a professional manner.
- Self-driven and able to work without constant supervision.
- Willing and able to travel as needed.
- Comfortable working mostly Monday–Friday, with some weekends depending on project demands.
- Experience in construction, warehouse racking, material handling, logistics, project coordination, or installation management is a plus.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and accountable.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who sees problems before they happen, communicates clearly, and takes ownership of the project. This person should be comfortable dealing with customers, installers, vendors, and internal teams while keeping projects moving forward.
We are looking for someone who does not wait to be told what to do, but instead follows up, asks the right questions, confirms details, and helps protect the project timeline.
