Position Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Security Field Supervisor to lead security installation crews for one of our largest commercial customers in the Birmingham market. This is a field-based leadership role — you will be on the job site every day, working alongside your crew while ensuring quality, safety, and schedule are met. The right person is a skilled technician who has grown into a leader and takes pride in both the craftsmanship of their work and the development of their team.

What You’ll Do

Supervise and direct security installation crews on active commercial job sites in Birmingham
Perform hands-on installation of access control, IP video surveillance (CCTV), and related low-voltage systems
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and project specifications
Coordinate daily work assignments, materials, and scheduling to keep projects on time and on budget
Serve as the primary point of contact between the crew and the project management team
Conduct on-site quality control inspections and ensure work meets company and customer standards
Enforce safety protocols and OSHA compliance on all job sites
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in the field
Train, mentor, and evaluate field technicians
Communicate project status updates, punch list items, and any issues to the Project Manager

What We’re Looking For

5+ years of hands-on experience installing commercial electronic security systems (access control and IP cameras)
2+ years of experience in a lead technician or supervisory role
Proficiency with major security platforms — experience with brands such as Lenel, Software House, Genetec, Axis, Bosch, or similar
Ability to read and work from blueprints and technical drawings
Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring practices and NEC code requirements
Valid Alabama driver’s license and a clean driving record
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Strong communication skills and the ability to lead a team professionally on a customer’s site
ESA/NTS certification or manufacturer certifications are a plus
