Duties

- Install, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and ventilation systems across light commercial or residential properties.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and HVAC design plans to accurately diagnose issues and implement solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC/R (refrigeration) equipment to ensure efficiency and longevity; conduct inspections of property systems for preventative upkeep.
- Repair plumbing components related to HVAC systems such as condensate drains and water lines; handle appliance repairs related to heating or cooling units.
- Utilize tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing; perform welding or mechanical repairs when necessary to restore system functionality.
- Operate a driver vehicle safely for field service visits; manage inventory of parts and tools needed for on-site repairs.
- Follow safety protocols when working with ammonia refrigeration or other hazardous materials; adhere to industry standards for equipment repair and maintenance.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician or mechanic with a strong background in construction or property maintenance environments.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC/R systems including air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, and ventilation units.
- Skilled in reading schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans for accurate troubleshooting and installation.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems related to heating and cooling equipment; experience with appliance repair is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge of electrical components; ability to use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters effectively.
- Field service experience involving equipment repair, maintenance tasks, or boiler operation is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; certification in ammonia refrigeration or HVAC/R is advantageous.
