Position Summary
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment at remote industrial locations. This position supports safe and reliable operations by ensuring all electrical components, power distribution systems, instrumentation, controls, and associated equipment operate efficiently and in compliance with applicable codes, company standards, and safety regulations.
Job Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, inspect, and repair electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot transformers, switchgear, and instrumentation systems. Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance. Install conduit, wiring, and electrical devices.
- Test electrical systems using diagnostic equipment. Assist with startup and commissioning activities.
- Maintain maintenance records and work orders. Ensure compliance with NEC, OSHA, and company policies.
- Respond to emergency call-outs as required.
Required Qualifications and Abilities
- Current Journeyman Electrician License.
- High school diploma or GED
- 3–5 years of industrial, oil & gas, or power generation experience.
- Strong understanding of power distribution and motor controls.
- Valid driver's license
- Maintain a safety first mindset
- Follow all company safety policies and participate in safety programs
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen Ability to obtain and maintain customer site access requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience terminating in pad mount transformers.
- NFPA 70E and OSHA training.
Physical Requirements
- Bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Climb ladders and work at heights
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Wear required PPE
Able to travel to worksites, overtime and weekend work
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
