Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our construction and maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems across various commercial and industrial sites. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes, schematics, and safety protocols to ensure reliable and compliant electrical operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in both industrial and commercial electrical work, demonstrating proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and technical measurement devices. Your expertise will contribute significantly to the successful completion of construction projects and ongoing facility maintenance.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes such as the NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to accurately execute electrical installations.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ammeters, ohmmeters, and other measurement devices to diagnose issues and verify system performance.
- Perform low voltage and high voltage electrical work safely on construction sites or existing facilities.
- Maintain compliance with safety standards including NEC regulations for all electrical work.
- Collaborate with project managers, frame carpenters, and other trades to coordinate installation activities on construction sites.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they escalate.
- Document work performed accurately and prepare reports for project records or maintenance logs.
- Assist in the training of apprentices or less experienced electricians when required.
- Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, safety standards, and best practices for electrical installation.
Skills
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems.
- Extensive knowledge of the NEC (National Electrical Code) standards for safe electrical practices.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and saws; as well as measurement instruments like ammeters, ohmmeters, and voltmeters.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocols.
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring systems as well as high voltage applications.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory combined with practical skills in troubleshooting complex issues.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications related to schematics and construction plans.
- Knowledge of frame carpentry is a plus for coordinating structural aspects during installations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills complemented by meticulous attention to detail.
