Summary:
Under minimal direction, read and interpret drawings and work instructions. Weld components at an acceptable rate to produce fabricated parts and assemblies.
Job Duties:
- Determines proper weld requirements from prints, work orders, and instructions
- Sets up components for welding according to specifications
- Operates angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
- Welds or tack welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes
- Sets up weld machine to the correct settings to achieve proper penetration.
- Ignites torch and regulates flow of gas and air to obtain desired temperature, size, and color of flame.
- Tests and inspects work pieces for defects ensuring work order and print specifications are met prior to sending to next operation
- Removes weld splatter from parts
- Moves work piece and final assemblies by means of overhead crane; Signals material handlers to move final assemblies to next production operation
- Performs daily checks of weld machine and keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as welder. MIG experience preferred. More Experience will warrant higher pay (Production Welding).
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Must demonstrate good math skills
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Ability to follow directions, read welding gauges, and operate overhead cranes
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing duties, employee is regularly required to stand, walk, twist, grasp, lift, and reach. Vision abilities require good close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
