Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), and meets project specifications. Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems using hand tools, power tools, schematics, and blueprints across construction sites and renovation projects
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to accurately execute wiring and system layouts
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring proper connections and safety protocols are followed
- Use testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively
- Collaborate with construction teams, frame carpenters, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless integration of electrical work
- Maintain compliance with NEC standards and safety regulations throughout all tasks
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical installations to ensure ongoing safety and functionality
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman Electrician license or certification demonstrating completion of required apprenticeship hours
- Proven experience as an industrial electrician or commercial electrician on construction sites or renovation projects
- Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and low/high voltage systems
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices
- Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics accurately
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety standards and NEC compliance
- Familiarity with renovation projects requiring adaptable electrical solutions
- Handyman skills including frame carpentry or general construction experience are a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting electrical issues
