Commercial Electrician (Experienced) – New Construction Retail Projects
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Electrician to join our team for large-scale retail construction projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working on ground-up commercial construction projects, including retail stores, shopping centers, and commercial buildouts. This position requires strong experience with conduit installation, wire pulling, and commercial lighting installation in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, bend, and run EMT, PVC, and rigid conduit in accordance with project specifications.
- Pull, route, and terminate electrical wiring for power and lighting systems.
- Install commercial lighting fixtures, controls, switches, receptacles, and associated devices.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and project layouts.
- Assist with the installation of electrical panels, transformers, and distribution equipment.
- Perform electrical rough-in and finish work on new construction projects.
- Follow all NEC guidelines, company policies, and jobsite safety requirements.
- Work closely with foremen, journeymen, superintendents, and other trades to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
- Assist with electrical system testing and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of commercial electrical experience.
- Strong experience running conduit, pulling wire, and installing commercial lighting systems.
- Experience working on new construction retail projects such as shopping centers, retail stores, or commercial tenant buildouts.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Knowledge of commercial electrical installation practices and NEC standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
Preferred Experience
- Ground-up commercial construction.
- Retail projects such as Nike stores, department stores, shopping centers, and similar commercial developments.
- Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts.
- Experience installing lighting controls, occupancy sensors, and energy-efficient lighting systems.
