Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled repair activities, operates small and heavy equipment; maintains buildings and grounds. Work is performed with considerable independent judgment. Supervision received is general in nature using established procedures and general objectives. Works closely with other professionals in a team approach.

Required Education and Experience High school diploma or G.E.D. and three (3) years of experience in building maintenance and repairs.
Required License/Certification: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in maintenance work.

General knowledge of heating, ventilating, refrigeration, electrical, water sewerage and control systems, and the tools and equipment used for repair and maintenance.

General knowledge of the mechanical devices, valves, booster pumps, fans, compressors, condensers, and control system switches.

General knowledge of related safety practices and procedures.

Ability to diagnose mechanical failures.

Ability to operate and maintain all equipment in a given area of responsibility with a minimum of supervision.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., carry, and push up to 20 lbs. and ability pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb stairs and a ladder and maintain balance.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, hear and speak.
- Sitting/Standing/Walking: 50% of time spent sitting, 25% of time standing, and 25% of time walking.
Hours: The position is a 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week), scheduled Monday–Friday from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM or 2:30PM - 11pm with rotating weekends as needed.
We are hiring for multiple vacancies at our Downtown Milwaukee, Oak Creek, and Mequon campuses. Available shifts vary between 1st and 2nd shift, depending on campus needs.
Compensation Salary pay rates are listed up to the midpoint of the range and placement is determined based on years of experience, internal salary equity, and a review of the applicant's employment and educational background as listed on the job application.
