Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Facility: Heavy‑industry, 24/7 operation

Fluor is looking for an experienced Industrial HVAC Technician to support operations at the Rand Whitney Containerboard paper mill in Montville, CT. This is a hands‑on role in a heavy‑industry environment where reliability, safety, and teamwork matter every day.

What You’ll Do

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all HVAC systems throughout the mill
Read and work from blueprints, P&IDs, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and single‑line drawings
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, glycol loops, air‑makeup units, and plant exhaust equipment
Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, amprobes, RTD/mA/T‑C calibrators, and laptops for system communication
Work closely with E&I technicians when needed
Follow step‑by‑step calibration and startup procedures
Enter work orders, parts, and PM data into the CMMS (Maximo)
Troubleshoot 480V 3‑phase motor starter circuits and 120/24V control circuits
Diagnose control issues using your understanding of PLC logic and operation
Work with equipment such as:
Rosemount temperature transmitters
ASCO solenoids
Pressure and flow limit switches

What You Bring

High school diploma or GED
S‑2 license preferred, or a 2‑year HVAC certificate/trade school equivalent
4+ years of HVAC experience (industrial experience a plus)
Strong troubleshooting skills with 24V and 120V control circuits
Familiarity with PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, GE Fanuc)
Ability to follow strict safety procedures, including Lock‑Tag‑Try and confined‑space protocols
Detail‑oriented mindset and willingness to document work properly
