Powre Tek Electrical Field Services is seeking a motivated and skilled Electrician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, testing, and repairing electrical systems across a variety of commercial and industrial projects throughout the United States. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging and diverse electrical systems while gaining valuable experience in electrical field testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
This position requires approximately 50–70% travel throughout the United States and offers significant opportunities for professional development and career advancement within a rapidly growing company.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical systems in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association standards) and NEC (National Electrical Code) guidelines.
- Perform electrical field testing, maintenance, and commissioning on power transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, protective relays, cables, batteries, and related electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, protection and control drawings, and technical diagrams.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage system installations safely and efficiently.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, relay test equipment, and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical issues and verify system integrity.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics to pinpoint faults or inefficiencies within complex electrical systems.
- Follow all electrical safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Work on construction sites, substations, industrial facilities, power plants, and maintenance environments, demonstrating adaptability across diverse settings.
- Handle high-voltage projects with precision while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with technicians, project managers, and customers to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Travel as required to project locations throughout the United States.
Skills & Qualifications
- Extensive experience with industrial electrical systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and schematic interpretation.
- Proven commercial or industrial electrician experience with a strong understanding of local electrical codes and regulations.
- Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, or maintenance of power systems is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70 compliance standards and electrical safety practices.
- Skilled in high-voltage electrical wiring as well as low-voltage systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience working in industrial facilities, substations, construction sites, or maintenance environments.
- Familiarity with transformers, switchgear, protective relays, circuit breakers, and other power distribution equipment is a plus.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
